  1. Where is four Gorillas Lodge located?

Four Gorillas lodge is a Luxury accommodation found in the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is located in the Kisoro district southwest of Uganda. The Lodge is 6km away from the Rushaga UWA headquarters/ briefing point.

  1. How can I travel to the lodge?

Four gorillas Lodge can be accessed by land and by air however, traveling by air is the most recommended means because it is faster and less tiring.

By air, through the Entebbe airport, you get a 2 hours transfer to Kisoro airstrip using chatter flights which are scheduled daily. From Kisoro you will have a drive of about 2hrs to Four Gorillas Lodge in the Rushaga sector.

By land from Entebbe or Kampala, you will have an 8 to 9hrs drive to Rushaga via the Kampala, Mbarara, and Kabale Kisoro route. From Kisoro you will have a drive of about 2hrs to Four Gorillas Lodge in the Rushaga sector.

  1. What activities can be done while at the Lodge?

While at Four Gorillas Lodge guests can participate in various activities like Gorilla tracking in Bwindi impenetrable National park, bird watching, community visits, Batwa community visits, nature walks, basket weaving, boat rides on lake Bunyonyi, and crafts making.

If you plan to do Gorilla tracking, you are advised to get a gorilla permit at least a month or two prior to your travel date.

  1. What do the rates cover?

The rates are on a full board basis inclusive of accommodation, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner per day, but exclusive of drinks and beverages at the bar.

  1. Does four Gorillas Lodge do Airport Transfers?

Yes, Four Gorillas lodge organizes private airport transfers upon request, between Kisoro airstrip and the Lodge using 4×4 SUVs.

It also organizes transfers from the lodge to the briefing points of Rushaga and Nkuringo and other areas like lake Bunyonyi.

  1. What are the temperatures like at the Lodge?

The lodge is cold through the day and night with temperatures sometimes dropping from 18 to 12 degrees Celsius. Guests are advised to carry a good jacket or something to keep them warm during their stay. It can also rain any time of the day in this area so you are advised to carry a rain jacket with you on this journey.

  1. Children under 15 are not permitted to do Gorilla trekking, which activities can they participate in while at the lodge?

Children below the age of 15 are very welcome to the Lodge because there are lots of fun activities that they can engage in while adults go Gorilla trekking. Children can visit the community and participate in activities like basket making, weaving, painting, African crafts making, etc.

  1. What is the surrounding area at the Lodge like?

Four Gorillas Lodge is an eco-lodge surrounded by lots of natural vegetation and directly faces the magnificent Bwindi impenetrable forest. Each cottage was designed and positioned in a way that gives guests a broad view of the forest. The lodge is quiet and private with only sweet sounds of nature from the birds, crickets, trees, and Gorillas.

  1. Does the Lodge have a Wi-Fi network?

Yes, the Lodge has a 24/7 Wi-Fi connection that can be accessed by all rooms at the Lodge and the password is shared upon arrival of the guests. You are rest assured to stay in touch with your loved ones and be up-to-date with your work during your stay at the lodge.

  1. Is there a workspace in the rooms?

Yes, all the cottages have a working table with a reading lamp and the lodge has a quiet and conducive environment for concentration.

  1. What are the cancellation policies?

A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the booking value is required within 14 days for confirmation of the reservation or it is automatically canceled thereafter.

Reservations that are canceled, reduced in length of stay, or reduced in numbers are (collectively known as cancellations) and are subject to cancellation and “no-show” fees

14 days prior to the client’s arrival date will attract a 100% cancellation fee, however, a credit note can be extended when the reason for cancellation is given in writing.

  1. Does the Lodge accept credit card payments?

Yes, credit card payments are allowed. We use Pesapal and we also have an online card payment system whose details are shared upon confirmation of your booking.

Other payment methods we use are bank, and Mobile Money payment using Airtel or Mtn networks. Cash payments are also accepted. Cheques are accepted only by banks that operate in Uganda.

Note that payments can only be in US dollars or Ugandan shillings’ currencies.
