    What to pack for a Gorilla trekking tour: The Best backpack for Gorilla trekking

    After all bookings have been made, there is one thing that can tarnish your great safari from being an unimaginable experience.

    Having secured your Uganda gorilla trekking permit, accommodation and transport – it is vital to consider what you are going to pack, as incorrect clothing can spoil the experience.

    Today, we have compiled a list of what you should have before embarking on a gorilla trekking safari in the thick Jungles of Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. The good news is that most of the gear can be bought here in Uganda.

    So if you were not able to obtain everything before you left home then worry not!

    • Waterproof boots

    Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park’s floor has boggy soils, ever wet. In order to cover your legs from the soggy ground and river waters that will be crossed on several trails, waterproof boots are essential.

    Waterproof light boots on your feet, the thrill has started because your feet are dry and comfortable. Due to high amounts of rainfall received in this park, the thick vegetation makes the soil soft and wet.  These shoes can be bought in most Entebbe or Kampala shops.     • Rain jackets

    Gorilla trekking safaris in Bwindi impenetrable forest are worthy being taken part in but your have the right gears.  At this park, rain falls any minute thus calls for rain jacket of water proof clothing worn. The memories are so beautiful however while in the forest, anticipate rain at any time even in the dry season, because the season can’t dictate on rain falling in this park.

    In case it does not rain, there is a thick vegetation here that the dew can stay till afternoon hours of the day. The dew cab soak you real wet if not dressed on waterproof jacket and this may affect the would be gotten real experience.

    • Garden gloves

    We recommend you to carry at least 1.5-2 liters of water to ensure that your experience is a great moment of your life.

    • Camera with extra batteries.

    HOW TO GET TO 4 GORILLAS LODGE

    4 Gorillas lodge is located in the southern part of  Bwindi Impenetrable national park in   Rushaga sector, the most visited of the gorilla tracking sectors in Uganda because it harbors the highest number of habituated gorilla families including Nshongi, Kahungye, Bweza, Busingye, Bikyingi, Mishaya, Mucunguzi, and Rwigi.

    BY ROAD

    Drive from Entebbe or  Kampala, via  Masaka, Mbarara  to Kabale. In Kabale proceed on the Kisoro highway up to Muko town where you will make a right turn off shortly after the Muko police outpost. The turn-off has many signposts of different lodges and 4 gorillas lodge has a signpost too.  The last drive after the turn-off is a straight drive and roughly takes an hour to the last bridge. From the bridge proceed for 300meters to a signpost for 4 Gorillas lodge where you will make your last turn. From this signpost, it takes roughly 1 km to 4 Gorillas lodge. The entire road trip takes approximately 8 to 9 hours with minimum stopovers.
